WHAT ARE TESSELATIONS?

TESSELATIONS ARE SHAPES THAT LINK UP WITH NO SPACES AND NO OVERLAPS TO COVER THE PAGE.

Today you are going to MAKE some tesselations at this website.  Follow the cloud links to make all of the parts of the city into tesselations.  Go to TESSELATION CITY to build your tesselations.

(We will be watching a Powerpoint to understand more about Mr Escher and his tesselation art.)

Then we are going to colour in our lizards which will become an Escher tesselation design when we put them together at the end. 🙂

Our Natural History Mini-Museum Day

Today was not a NIGHT at the Museum, but a DAY at our very own natural history museum.  You worked really well today at classifying plants and animals, using your skills of observation to make your decisions.  You can also be very proud of how independent you were and how well you worked with all the other Year 3 classes.  Well done, people.

Structure Constructions

What a great job you all did creating amazing models from your designs of the famous structure you investigated!  Here is a slideshow of your incredible posters.  They certainly all deserved their principal stickers from Mr. Thomas! I also like the way you reflected on your work using a PMI and especially, the positive comments your classmates gave you on it too!  🙂

Good work, people.  Have a look at your hard work.
