HISTORICAL INCIDENT – THE FACTS

The other day we read “Sam, Grace and the Shipwreck” and discussed the story of Grace Bussell and Sam Isaacs. You drew a picture and wrote a retell of your favourite part of the story.  Today you need to do the other side, which is the HISTORICAL INCIDENT factual side where you will give the historical facts of the event.

You will also receive two photos of Grace and Sam, which you will need to stick onto your Historical Incident fact page.  These are facts which you need to find on the information sheet called “The Georgette…” which tells the story.  As you read it, you need to highlight key facts to write onto your worksheet.  Please take time to do this job neatly and thoroughly people, and get it finished today, please.  🙂

CONGRATULATIONS!

You all worked incredibly well today at your task of making a Local History Timeline.  We will be reading through it tomorrow and discussing important events that have made Margaret River and our area the way it is today.  (There will be some surprising things in there…!)

You worked really well in your groups, remembering our GROUPWORK RULES:

  1. USE YOUR STRENGTHS
  2. TAKE TURNS AND ALL DO EQUAL WORK
  3. COMMUNICATE RESPECTFULLY

I’ll have to take some photos of your timelines to put up here.  By the way, your Bussell Story Maps and Global Goals Earth Day Posters look sensational on our wall.  Remember to ask your Mum or Dad to have a look at them when they drop you off or pick you up. 🙂
