MY PET DRAGON DESCRIPTIONS!

These students did an outstanding job of describing their pet dragons.  They used lots of good adjectives and they chose similes to let the reader or listener to picture what the dragon was really like.  [Click on the arrow on the media player below each person’s beautiful picture of his or her dragon.]  Fantastic job with both the pictures and the reading of your descriptions!  🙂

DRAGON DESCRIPTIONS

1. Today we will be describing our Pet Dragon.  We will be using what we learnt last week about adjectives, alliteration and similes and creating atmosphere in our writing to write a really good description.

We will need to use our description planner to see what parts of the dragon we need to describe.  You will be writing a paragraph to describe each of his or her important features.  Remember, you know your pet dragon really well and you want to get us to picture what he or she looks like by using WORDS  to PAINT THE PICTURE!

2. KOREAN DRAGON – this website will show some special features which make dragons frightening.

3. DRAGON SIMILES AND METAPHORS by kids

4.  ORIENTAL DRAGONS – this website describes dragons with lots of similes

My Bedroom Descriptions

You can all be very proud of yourselves – some great writing last week.  I’d like to publish your descriptions using VoiceThreads, which means I will need a photo from you of your bedroom (or picture you have scanned) and you can then read your description out while we record it to match your photo.  Bring it to school on your USB or e-mail it to me by going to the e-mail link on the right-hand sidebar of this blog.
