MATHS – FRACTIONS

Today we are going over FRACTIONS.  These are always EQUAL PARTS and can be in any number of equal parts.  If it’s 2 they are halves, if it is 3 they are thirds, if 4 they are quarters.

These games will help you practise your FRACTIONS.  Please do them in the order they are given below.

REVISING FRACTIONS: Go through these activities all the way from Level 1 and see who can get to Level 5.  In Level 2 Fraction Wall you need to fill in the wall. Look carefully to see which fractions are the same as other fractionshttp://www.bgfl.org/bgfl/custom/resources_ftp/client_ftp/ks2/maths/fractions/index.htm

Finding Gramps is a game where Gramps goes to hide behind the hedge and you have to guess where he is by entering the correct numerator over the denominator. http://www.visualfractions.com/findgrampy.html

Fractions of a set – How many of the cookies are round? This activity shows you how to find the fraction of a group of things.  http://www.visualfractions.com/Identify_sets.html

REWARD TIME: – YOUR GAME TODAY IS MAKING A FRACTION FLAG ON-LINE. This is just like our half-and-half flags we made, so experiment with your patterns. http://resources.oswego.org/games/fractionflags/fractionflags.html

Have fun and learn all about halves, thirds and quarters!!

Well done, Harry! Glad to see you are still visiting to use some of the games. When you get better, you’ll have to come and see me about a little project you could do for me and our class to use…. Get better soon
