MY PET DRAGON DESCRIPTIONS!

These students did an outstanding job of describing their pet dragons.  They used lots of good adjectives and they chose similes to let the reader or listener to picture what the dragon was really like.  [Click on the arrow on the media player below each person’s beautiful picture of his or her dragon.]  Fantastic job with both the pictures and the reading of your descriptions!  🙂

“Greensleeves” Research by Inji

Inji researched this medieval song and found all the lyrics.  She asked Keira to play it for us on the piano so that we can all share the song and the tune.  Great job, Keira! 🙂

Here is a video clip of “Greensleeves” being played on a medieval instrument, the lute.  Tell us what you think of the sound in a comment.

A great collaboration and I’m sure Inji will tell us what she has learnt about this song and its history.  (Elliot, Amahre and Cate have also found the lyrics and can share what they have found us with us.)  Some interesting research, people!  🙂 Mrs Veary

Rumplestiltskin

We will be comparing the two versions of the Rumplestiltskin story:

1.  The traditional fairy tale – RUMPLESTILTSKIN

2.  The Kermit news video (below)

THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU HAVE HEARD AND READ, THEN ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS.
1.What was the same in each story? 2. What was different?
3. Which Rumplestiltskin and which Queen did you like best?
4. Do you think it is right to make a promise you don’t think you can keep? Does this make the Queen or Rumplestiltskin the bad person in this story?

We also love the way you often bring in interesting items and bits of information from home to share with the class – to improve our learning.  We loved seeing your very extensive coin collection, Skye!  It helped us learn about the different coins and what they look like.  Thank you. 😆

CASTLE ACROSTIC POEMS

You have done a fabulous job writing your CASTLE acrostic poems!  You had to use adjectives, alliteration and for above expected, at least one simile (comparison using like… or as…as ).  Enjoy reading them and sharing them with your parents in this flipbook.  Write a comment below to compliment someone for something special you liked in his or her poem.  🙂 Mrs Veary
